Active supervision

Active supervision means knowing where the child is, what the child is doing and what risks are present. The level of supervision depends on age, development, environment and activity. Young children require close attention near roads, water, stairs, cooking areas and playgrounds. Follow the family's instructions about allergies, medicines, screen time, food, sleep and transport. Never improvise with medication. Never leave a young child alone in a vehicle, near water or in another clearly hazardous situation.
